Hi, I'm Baila.
A mother. A photographer of real, unscripted moments.
I don't stage families. I capture them — because who you already are was worth remembering long before I showed up with a camera.
The part nobody photographs
I know the mental load. The dinners. The laundry. Knowing what everyone needs before they ask.
Repacking the diaper bag for the third time before we've left the driveway.
And somehow never ending up in a single photo — because I'm always the one holding the camera.
I used to shoot posed portraits. Perfect angle, perfect smile.
But none of it showed who my clients' kids actually were.
So I stopped.
Now I chase real laughter instead of perfect poses. Real love instead of perfect smiles.
And I make room for the moms — the ones who hold it all together and never get held in a photo themselves.
Why this work matters to me:
I'm an artist, first and always.
Raising my own kids, I learned that time doesn't pass — it flies. They were newborns. Now they're big.
And it was never the posed photos that showed me who they were.
It was the mess. The bottle held in two clumsy hands.
The love in a moment nobody planned.
That's what I hold onto. Not how they looked,
who they were, exactly as they were, at every age.
When I'm not behind the camera
I'm a mother first — knee-deep in laundry, bath time, bedtime, and long afternoons outside.
I'm also a certified somatic practitioner in Transforming Touch and SRT, working with children carrying developmental trauma — helping the nervous system find safety again.
It's not so different from what I do behind the camera. Both are about helping someone feel safe enough to stop performing, and just be.
When you get your gallery back, I don't want you to just see nice pictures.
I want you to feel it.
The love, the connection, exactly how your family felt in that moment. That's the whole point.
